Why GFRC? PDF Print E-mail

Why use GFRC? Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete is lighter, stronger, and allows for seamless concrete countertop projects to be installed in a fraction of the time.

Time savings is key benefit for the GFRC method—projects can be de-molded 24 hours after casting.

GFRC was tested at the Concrete Zen Workshop for 1, 2, 3, 7, 14 and 28 day compressive strength. After 3 days the cast GFRC has 3900 psi, which allows us to immediately install.

Another benefit of GFRC is that VCAS Pozzolans are added to the cement load to create a stronger, eco-friendly product.

The GFRC method requires less material and does not require any steel reinforcement as compared to standard wet cast methods.
